About Windows 8


Microsoft telah merilis Windows 8 versi Consumer Preview pada 29 Februari lalu. Ini merupakan versi uji coba yang dapat di Download Di http://windows.micro...onsumer-preview



Meski Microsoft tidak menyebutkan secara khusus, tetapi Windows 8 akan tersedia dalam sembilan edisi atau versi. Hal ini diketahui dari file registry editor di Windows 8 Consumer Preview yang dirilis tersebut.

Kesembilan versi tersebut meliputi:

Windows 8 Starter Edition
Windows 8 Home Basic Edition
Windows 8 Home Premium Edition
Windows 8 Professional Edition
Windows 8 Professional Plus Edition
Windows 8 Enterprise Edition
Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation Edition
Windows 8 Ultimate Edition
Windows 8 ARM Edition

Dibandingkan dengan Windows 7 yang dikeluarkan dalam 7 edisi, Microsoft menambah tiga edisi baru di Windows 8. Edisi yang ditambah adalah Professional Plus, Enterprise Evaluation, dan ARM Edition.

Microsoft belum memberi tahu soal fitur-fitur pembeda di setiap edisinya.

Namun, untuk ARM Edition, Microsoft memang merancang Windows 8 sebagai OS yang bisa berjalan di perangkat mobile, yakni tablet dan smartphone, yang kebanyakan menggunakan prosesor berarsitektur ARM.

Namun, kesembilan edisi Windows 8 itu belum menjadi keputusan akhir karena hingga saat ini Windows 8 masih dalam bentuk Beta atau uji coba
